Lindsey Gort (The Carrie Diaries) has just been cast as the female lead of Edmund Entin and Gary Entin’s Heaven Sent. In the romantic comedy for MarVista Entertainment, Gort will play Sarah Fitzpatrick, who discovers her name is missing from a list of people waiting to be admitted to into heaven. Without even being given the time to come to terms with her death, she’s sent back to Earth as an angel to find out why she’s been left off the list — and the only person who can see her is her ex-boyfriend. Filming begins later this month in Los Angeles. Gort, who’s repped by Pakula/King & Associates and Sanders Armstrong Caserta Management, also is currently recurring on TV Land’s dark comedy series Impastor and ABC Family’s Baby Daddy.
Katie Garfield has joined the cast of The Birth Of A Nation, written and directed by and starring Nate Parker. She will appear opposite Parker, Armie Hammer as Elizabeth Turner, daughter of plantation owner Hammer and Penelope Ann Miller. Katie’s character develops a friendship with the wife of slave Nat Turner (Parker). Garfield is repped by Rebel Entertainment Partners, Kids Unlimited and Industry Entertainment.
