E! is adding two new series to its lineup: docu-reality show Just Jillian, starring and executive produced by Jillian Michaels, and comedy/celebrity/pop culture program The Comment Section, executive produced by Joel McHale. Just Jillian, from Studio Lambert, an All3 Media America company, follows the former Biggest Loser star as she juggles business and family life. Comment Section, the first project under the The Soup host and executive producer McHale’s new producing deal with E!, was originally ordered to pilot in November. It stars comedian Michael Kosta and focuses on deconstructing the often snarky comments on popular websites.
Additionally, E! has put in development several other unscripted/alternative series, including a Hollywood prenup show hosted by Gigi Levangie, talk show Girls Guide To Sports, docuseries following newlyweds Kierra and Harry Douglas as well as a series featuring single celebrities looking for love and one focusing on social media stars.
E! Orders Drama Pilot 'The Arrangement'
“While these projects are extremely diverse, they are quintessentially E!, giving our fans a sneak peek into the celebrity lifestyle and having fun with entertainment and pop culture in a way that only E! can.”, said Jeff Olde, EVP Programming and Development at E!
The cable net is coming off a solid April ratings performance, finished up 29% year-vs-year on the strength of veteran Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Botched and scripted newcomer The Royals.
