Fortissimo Films will handle world rights outside Benelux to Maurice Dekkers’ culinary documentary Ants On A Shrimp. Currently in post-production, it follows chef René Redzepi as he relocates his restaurant, Noma, from Copenhagen to Japan. Temporarily closing up his home base, Redzepi transfers his entire staff to Tokyo where the doc offers a look at one of Time Magazine’s Top 100 influential people in the world as he applies his philosophy of “time and place on a plate.” Fortissimo’s other food-related documentaries have included Jiro Dreams Of Sushi, Supersize Me, Food Inc and the upcoming Kampai! For The Love Of Sake. Ants On A Shrimp is produced by Netherlands-based BlazHoffski/Dahl TV, a Warner Bros company.

Archstone Distribution has acquired global sales rights on Don’t Kill It, directed by Big Ass Spider!‘s Mike Mendez and written by Body‘s Dan Berk and Robert Olsen. Dolph Lundgren is set to star as a demon hunter who must destroy an ancient evil unleashed in a small Alaskan town. Production is set to begin in early July.
Former Momentum and Pathé UK executive Louis Tisné has launched Elastic Film to develop and produce international director-driven films and TV. Tisné recently exec produced Hungry Hearts, which won the acting Volpi Cups for Adam Driver and Alba Rohrwacher in Venice, and Cub, which won Best Director at Sitges for Jonas Govaerts. Tisné will work with Govaerts and Hungry Hearts’ helmer Saverio Costanzo with new projects in development. The first with Govaerts is an English-language horror pic set in the rock n’ roll industry and written by Kevin Lehane. The second is the adaptation of a haunting short-story to be written by a Brit-listed British writer. With Costanzo and Mario Gianani and Lorenzo Mieli’s Rome-based production company Wildside, Tisné is developing a new directing vehicle for Costanzo. Elastic will have offices in London and Berlin, and also has a strategic alliance with Belgium production company Potemkino which produced Cub and is currently co-producing Terence Davies’ A Quiet Passion.
