After spending 13 years working in international publicity at Warner Bros Pictures, Catherine Nam has joined New Line Cinema as VP Publicity and Communication. She replaces (in part) Candice McDonough, who left the post earlier this year. Nam will work closely with the domestic and international publicity teams at Warner Bros to help shape the worldwide publicity campaigns for all New Line titles. She reports to Toby Emmerich, President & COO of New Line Cinema. McDonough was a senior vp and reported to both the studio and NL.
Her new post also encompasses spearheading communications for all of New Line’s operations — from corporate communications to managing the division’s philanthropic initiatives. Nam also will provide communications support for Warner Bros Theatre Ventures, which Emmerich oversees.

“We’re thrilled to have Cathy join the New Line team and know she will be a tremendous asset for us and our films,” said Emmerich in a statement. “Her knowledge, positive disposition and past experience at Warner Bros make her a perfect fit for New Line.”
While serving as a director of international publicity at Warner Bros Pictures, Nam helped strategize and manage release and awards campaigns for the studio’s films across 120 international territories, including the Hobbit trilogy. She also helped launch the Hangover films as well as The Conjuring, We’re The Millers and The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button. Nam joined Warner Bros Pictures in 2001 as part of its Global Trainee Program.
