Alberto Rosende (Blue Bloods) and Emeraude Toubia (Tu Dia Alegre) have joined the cast of Shadowhunters, ABC Family’s straight-to-series drama based on the bestselling young adult fantasy book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare.
The series, whose first episode is being directed by McG, follows 18-year-old Clary Fray who finds out on her birthday that she is not who she thinks she is, but rather comes from a long line of Shadowhunters — human-angel hybrids who hunt down demons. When her mother Jocelyn is kidnapped, Clary is thrown into the world of demon hunting with mysterious Shadowhunter Jace (Dominic Sherwood) and her best friend Simon. Now living among faeries, warlocks, vampires and werewolves, Clary begins a journey of self-discovery as she learns more about her past and what her future may hold.
Rosende will play Simon, Clary Fray’s long-time best friend, whose loyalty and feelings for her are tested as he fights alongside her on an epic journey. Toubia is Isabelle, an exotic-looking, model-beautiful Shadowhunter. A trained fighter who can kick-ass in high-heels, Isabelle’s one weakness is her choice in men – always going for the bad boy.
Shadowhunters is produced by Constantin Film and executive produced by Ed Decter and McG. Rosende is repped by Innovative Artists and managed by Michal Zecher. Toubia is repped by Liam Scholey and Andres Budnik at Vision Management.
