An official trailer just dropped for the new comedy Absolutely Anything in which Monty Python’s John Cleese, Eric Idle, Michael Palin, Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam provide the voices for alien overlords in the film about a man (Simon Pegg) and his dog (Robin Williams).
The film, which was Williams’ final work before he died, was directed by Terry Jones from a script by Gavin Scott and Jones. The property was pre-sold in every territory but the U.S. and South Korea so will be screening for studios this week. Lionsgate has distribution in the all-important UK market.
Absolutely Anything was executive produced by Mike Medavoy and Chris Chesser and produced by Bill Jones and Ben Timlett. The film was co-scripted over two decades and follows a school teacher who is granted the power to conjure “absolutely anything” by a band of scheming aliens. When the teacher gives his dog the ability to speak, it unleashes a manic stream of conscious thoughts in the way only Williams could (hilariously) accomplish. The film not only has a bromance with a man and his dog but also an element of romance with Kate Beckinsale as Pegg’s love interest. It co-stars Joanna Lumley, Rob Riggle and Eddie Izzard. Take a look above.
