Rumors have been circulating about who would pen Captain Marvel and now Marvel themselves have made it official. Guardians Of The Galaxy co-writer Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve will write the screenplay for the superhero pic slated to hit theaters on November 2, 2018, the Disney-owned superhero giant announced online today. LeFauve most recently co-wrote Disney-Pixar’s upcoming film Inside Out. The animated film set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival next month before hitting theaters on June 19.
With no director and no cast set yet, little is known yet about Marvel’s specific plans for the pic. We do know focuses on the Carol Danvers character, who first appeared in the Marvel Comics in 1968. Major Carol Danvers was introduced as a member of the U.S. Air Force in Marvel Super-Heroes #13 (1968). She debuted as the first incarnation of Ms. Marvel in Ms. Marvel #1 (January 1977) after a fusion of alien Kree and human genes gives her superhuman powers.
Perlman is repped by CAA and Management 360 and LeFauve is repped by Verve and Zaftig Films.
