Denis Leary has an official return date to FX. The co-creator, writer and star of the cable net’s FX-logofirefighter drama Rescue Me has the same roles in Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll, which FX today set for a July 16 premiere. FX also said it will bow the Louie multihyphenate’s latest hourlong stand-up special Louis C.K.: Live From The Comedy Store on May 28, following the Season 5 finale of his eponymous series. It’s Louis C.K.’s sixth hourlong special and second to air on FX, following 2012’s Live At The Beacon Theater.

The network also said today that the sophomore season of comedy Married will premiere July 16 right after Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll, and Season 2 of political thriller Tyrant is set to bow June 16. And Season 2 of vampire creepshow The Strain will premiere in the summer, though FX didn’t specify when.

Leary stars in Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll as Johnny Rock, lead singer of NYC’s legendary early-’90s band The Heathens. Rock is trying to get the both his band and his life back together. John Corbett co-stars along with Elizabeth Gillies, Bobby Kelly and Elaine Hendrix. Leary and partner Jim Serpico are executive producing through their Apostle banner. It is produced by FX Productions and Fox 21 Television Studios and is filming on location in New York City.
