EXCLUSIVE: Director Michael Carney and his writing partner Alexander Foard (left and right above) who are behind Paramount’s upcoming feature adaptation of the bestselling nonfiction book Same Kind of Different As Me, have inked with Paradigm.
The faith-based drama follows the story of international art dealer Ron Hall (Greg Kinnear), who must befriend a dangerous homeless man (Djimon Hounsou) in order to save his struggling marriage to his wife (Renee Zellweger), a woman whose dreams will lead all three of them on the most remarkable journey of their lives. Jon Voight also stars.
Carney and Foard adapted the film from the book by Denver Moore, Lynn Vincent, and Ron Hall, who also co-penned the script with the duo. Carney makes his feature directorial debut, and he and Carney executive produce. Disruption’s Mary Parent and Cale Boyter are producing for Paramount. The film is in post-production and slated for a fall 2015 release.
Carney and Foard are also repped by Lichter, Grossman, Nichols, Adler & Feldman.
