The move comes on the heels of the executive restructuring at the two Turner entertainment networks under new TBS and TNT president Kevin Reilly. In his company memo last month announcing a new setup, in which TNT and TBS are getting their separate programming teams, he listed Freiberger as “continuing to handle our casting needs for both networks’ expanding lineup.”
Among the projects Freiberger oversaw during her 12-year Turner tenure were TNT drama series The Closer, Murder In The First and Saving Grace and miniseries Into The West as well as TBS comedies Ground Floor and Angie Tribeca.
Prior to joining TNT, Freiberger was an Emmy-nominated independent casting director of TV movies and miniseries. Previously, she was SVP Talent & Casting at CBS for 13 years. Here is Freiberger’s internal note:
I’m very proud to have been a part of TNT’s success story. It’s unfortunate to get caught in a regime change but that’s the nature of this business. I’ve had a great 12 year run & will miss working with some really wonderful & talented people.
