The Practice and Army Wives alumna Kelli Williams has been cast as the lead in UP network’s first scripted series Ties That Bind. Williams will play Allison, a tough and fearless police detective in the hybrid police procedural and family drama. The 10-episode series revolves around Williams’ character, Allison, who must arrest her younger brother for aggravated assault. Her world drastically changes when her brother is convicted and sent to prison. She then brings his two teenage children into her family’s home, joining her husband and her own teenage children. The series focuses on the challenges both families face and joys and struggles of the teens as they adjust to their new home.
In addition to long-running stints on The Practice and Army Wives, Williams’ TV credits also include Lie To Me, Men In Trees and Medical Investigation, along with guest roles on NCIS, The Mentalist and Criminal Minds. She is repped by ICM Partners and John Carrabino Management. Ties That Bind is scheduled to premiere this summer.
