Ernie Hudson is set for a recurring role in ABC’s multi-camera comedy pilot Delores & Jermaine. Written by comedian Jermaine Fowler based on his life, it stars Fowler as a millennial with big ideas, but very little drive, who moves in with his estranged grandmother (Whoopi Goldberg), a strict, football-loving, former D.C. cop who needs his youthful enthusiasm in her life as much as he needs her old-school parenting. Hudson will play the grandmother’s love interest. The actor, repped by APA and Artists International Management, also plays a love interest in a pair of other comedies: Lily Tomlin’s in an arc on Netflix’s Grace And Frankie and Wendie Malick’s on TV Land’s Hot In Cleveland. Hudson is next on the big screen in The Wrong Stuff.
Corbin Bernsen (Psych) has joined the cast of Living On Video, David Fincher’s HBO comedy pilot. Set in 1983 Los Angeles, it revolves around the players of the then-exploding music video industry — directors, record executives and crew members, many of them dabbling in drugs — through the eyes of a newcomer, Robby (Charlie Rowe). Robby is a wide-eyed guy who drops out of college and drives to Hollywood with dreams of directing a sci-fi epic and lands a job as a PA for a company making music videos. Bernsen, repped by Greene & Associates and Randy James Management, will play Bill White, a successful Hollywood commercial director. The actor next appears on the big screen in Jesse & Naomi and Sensory Perception.
Aalyrah Caldwell has landed a series regular role on Uncle Buck, ABC’s single-camera comedy pilot based on the classic John Hughes film starring John Candy. Like the movie, the series adaptation, written by Steven Cragg and Brian Bradley, centers on Buck Russell (Mike Epps), a childish man who learns how to be an adult by taking care of the kids of his younger yet more accomplished brother Will (James Lesure) in a very childish way. Caldwell, repped by the Osbrink Agency and Artistic Endeavors, plays Will’s daughter. Her credits include Key & Peele and The Fosters, and she next appears in the feature Cardinal X.
