Chloë Sevigny is returning to American Horror Story. Sevigny last appeared on the second season, American Horror Story: Asylum, as a recurring, playing a nymphomaniac. Ryan Murphy tweeted this morning that she’s joined the cast of American Horror Story: Hotel as a series regular. No word yet on her character.
She’ll join previously announced Lady Gaga, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer and Cheyenne Jackson for the show’s fifth season. Jessica Lange announced earlier this month at PaleyFest that she would not be returning for a fifth stint on Hotel. During her four seasons on AHS, Lange played a washed-up Southern belle in season one, an acerbic nun in American Horror Story: Asylum, a dominant witch in American Horror Story: Coven and a German carnival ringmaster in last season’s American Horror Story: Freak Show. During her tenure on AHS, Lange won two Emmys, a Golden Globe and a SAG award for her alter egos.
Sevigny played Shelley in Asylum, a patient at Briarcliff who is experimented on by Dr. Arden (James Cromwell). Her other TV credits include Bloodline, The Mindy Project, Those Who Kill, Portlandia and Hit & Miss.
