Filmmaker Joe Begos’ second feature is The Mind’s Eye, a violent telekinetic revenge thriller set in snowy 1990 New England. The Mind’s Eye follows a drifter with telekinetic abilities who targets a doctor who is creating a synthetic telekinetic power serum. Begos wrote Mind’s Eye and is directing as well. The film went into production this week in Rhode Island and is financed by Channel 83 Films and Site B Productions. The Mind’s Eye stars Graham Skipper (from Begos’ feature directorial debut Almost Human), Lauren Ashley Carter (Pod), John Speredakos, Noah Segan (Looper), Matt Mercer (Contracted I+II) Larry Fessenden, and Jeremy Gardner. Begos, Josh Ethier, Graham Skipper, and Zak Zeman produce.
Begos’ Almost Human premiered at the 2013 Midnight Madness section of the Toronto International Film Festival and IFC Midnight snapped up domestic rights. Begos served as writer, producer, director, and cinematographer on Almost Human, which followed a man (Skipper) whose best friend may or may not be committing a series of horrific murders.
Begos is represented by Paradigm and Alexander, Lawrence, Frumef and Labowitz.
