USA Pilot ‘Stanistan’ Not Going Forward

USA Network has passed on drama pilot Stanistan starring Jennifer Carpenter and Jonathan Cake. Written by Andy Parker, the project, from Universal Cable Prods., marked a departure for the cable network. It followed the staff at the American compound in the Middle Eastern country of Stanistan, where State Department workers, covert CIA officers and journalists strike a delicate balance between danger and levity.

Stanistan was one of five drama pilots ordered by USA as part of its current cycle. Of them two already have been picked up to series: Colony and Mr. Robot. The remaining two, Queen Of The South and Evil Men, are in various stages of production.
