EXCLUSIVE: Scott Eastwood is set to co-star alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley in Oliver Stone’s untitled film about NSA leaker Edward Snowden. Eastwood will play a National Security Agency agent who leads the group. Open Road and Endgame acquired the U.S. rights to the film back in November. My colleague Mike Fleming Jr broke the story in the fall that Gordon-Levitt was joining the pic.
The Oscar winning director and his producing partner Moritz Borman snared the rights to the Time Of The Octopus novel by Snowden’s Russian lawyer Anatoly Kucherena and Guardian journalist Luke Harding‘s The Snowden Files: The Inside Story Of The World’s Most Wanted Man.
After acting on TV and films — including his father Clint’s Gran Torino and Flags Of Our Fathers — Scott Eastwood landed his first starring studio gig in The Longest Ride, the Nicholas Sparks adaptation that Fox opens in April. He also stars in the upcoming indie Western Diablo. Eastwood is repped by UTA and Joanne Horowitz Management.
