Michael Kelly, who starred as Congressman Francis Underwood’s right hand man Doug Stamper on Netflix’s House of Cards, has booked a role in the STX Entertainment film The Secret in Their Eyes, a remake of the 2010 Oscar-winning Argentinian foreign language film, which stars Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
The film follows a former assistant D.A., Ray Kasten (Ejiofor) who returns to Los Angeles on a joint task force with the FBI, still obsessed by the unsolved murder that continues to haunt him. Kelly will play Reggie Siefert, a tightly-wound, seasoned DAI (District Attorney Investigator) who works at the offices of the L.A. District Attorney. He has always hated Ray; there is no love lost between these two men. When Ray returns to the LA office to re-open the case, Reggie makes no bones about letting him know he’s not welcome. Years ago, Reggie thwarted Ray’s investigation into the murder.
