Three-time Oscar winner Meryl Streep is set to narrate Shout Gladi Gladi, a feature documentary about women’s health in Africa. Co-directed by Adam Friedman and Iain Kennedy, it focuses on fistula, a common, debilitating that turns once-healthy women into outcasts. The film also features appearances by Melinda Gates and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Wole Soyinka. Streep, whose 19 Academy Award nominations is more than any other actor, most recently starred in Into The Woods, The Given, Osage: August County and The Iron Lady. She next appears in Ricki And the Flash and Suffragette. Streep is repped by CAA and Gendler & Kelly.
Lucy Boynton (Life In Squares), James Remar (State Of Affairs, Dexter) and Lauren Holly (Motive, NCIS) have joined the cast of indie horror pic February. Emma Roberts and Kiernan Shipka star in writer-director Osgood Perkins’ film about evil goings-on at a prestigious all-girls prep school. Production is under way in Ottawa. Ryan Newman has landed a role in the Syfy telepic threequel Sharknado 3. She plays Claudia Shepard, daughter of Fin and April (franchise stars Ian Ziering and Tara Reid). This time, the sharknado phenomenon will cause mass destruction in Washington, D.C., then roar down the Eastern Seaboard. Newman stars on Nick at Nite’s See Dad Run and was a regular on Disney XD’s Zeke And Luther. Feature credits include Zoom and Monster House. She is repped by APA.
