MGM is extending its relationship with Lloyd Braun. The company has renewed its existing TV and film deal with Braun’s Whalerock Industries until 2017. MGM originally inked a TV production deal and a first-look feature pact with Whalerock’s predecessor, BermanBraun, in 2013.
MGM is distributing internationally Whalerock’s new unscripted series Battlebots, which will air this summer on ABC. Other MGM/Whalerock projects include the film I Am Pilgrim (based on the Terry Hayes best-selling novel) and multiple series in development.
Additionally, Whalerock Industries, launched by Braun and Gail Berman eight years ago as BermanBraun, has announced an expansion of its digital media business to include interactive direct-to-consumer digital Media Hubs. First partnerships include Kim Kardashian West, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Howard Stern and Tyler, the Creator. The first Media Hub, an app from Tyler, The Creator, will launch in the first half of 2015.
Whalerock also announced that GF Capital has acquired a minority stake in the Company.
