Yeah, Super Bowl snagged the biggest audience in TV history, 114.4 million viewers — but did you know Hallmark Channel’s 2nd annual Kitten Bowl reached 1.3 million viewers on Sunday between noon and 3 PM ET and that’s up 28% over last year’s inaugural telecast?
The kitten-cast claims to have reached 284,000 women 25-54 (+37%), 248,000 women 18-49 (+38%), 394,000 adults 18-49 (+40%) and 423,000 adults 25-54 (+28%).
Kitten Bowl II garnered more than 50,000 tweets that reached nearly 36 million people on Sunday, giving Hallmark Channel its biggest tweet day ever. The program also was a hot topic on Facebook, trending in the Top 10 into the wee hours of Monday morning and reaching 1.7 million unique users — more than double the activity from the previous year.

Through its partners, North Shore Animal League America and Last Hope Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation, Hallmark Channel helped each of the 92 adoptable kitten footballers find homes.
The three-hour special was hosted by Beth Stern, national spokeswoman for North Shore Animal League America. New York Yankees radio voice John Sterling and sports analyst Mary Carillo were this year’s play-by-play announcers, and and guest appearances were made by Boomer Esiason, Kevin Nealon, Regis Philbin, Mario Lopez, Maria Menounos, Kat Dennings, Bob Harper, Fiona Gubelmann, Tricia Helfer, Heather McDonald, Deidre Hall, Jenn Brown and Camren Bicondova.
