Turner Broadcasting System’s SVP of Public Relations Karen Cassell is leaving the company after 24 years. Cassell, a respected PR executive, started at Turner in 1991 and has been SVP since 2003. She was involved in TNT’s transformation into an original drama series destination and spearheaded TBS’ relaunch as a comedy network. For the past decade, she has been overseeing TNT, TBS as well as Turner Classic Movies and Turner South. Atlanta-based Cassell plans to spend time with her family and be a full-time mom for a little awhile.

Cassell’s departure comes a couple of months after the regime change at Turner Broadcasting that saw Kevin Reilly taking over the network group as president of TBS and TNT and Chief Creative Officer for Turner Entertainment. He is based in Los Angeles, and a lot of the networks’ operations, previously based at the company’s Atlanta headquarters, are now moving to the West Coast.
