Ryan Murphy is known for breaking young talent as he has done on Glee. He now has cast a newcomer in his next series for Fox, Scream Queens. Joining the horror-comedy anthology series is NYU graduate Billie Lourd, making her TV debut. While relatively new to professional acting, Lourd is not new to the business as she is the daughter of CAA managing director Bryan Lourd and actress Carrie Fisher.
Lourd will be part of an ensemble cast that also includes Glee‘s Lea Michele, Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts, Joe Manganiello and Abigail Breslin.
Production is set to begin in the spring on the first installment of Scream Queens, in which a college campus is rocked by a series of murders. The show from 20th TV and Ryan Murphy Television, which Murphy created with fellow Glee co-creators Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, is set to debut in the fall.

On the feature side, Lourd has been rumored to be playing a younger version of her mom’s character, Princess Leia, in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens.
