Kyle Dean Massey has joined the cast of ABC’s country music drama Nashville in a recurring role. He plays Kevin Bicks, one of the most successful singer-songwriters in Nashville who also happens to be openly gay. Massey, repped by Abrams Artists and Regarding Entertainment, just finished a run on Broadway in the title role of Pippin. His TV credits include The Good Wife, Inside Amy Schumer and Hart Of Dixie.
Joaquim de Almeida has landed a recurring role on USA Network’s drama pilot Queen Of The South, an English-language adaptation of Telemundo’s blockbuster 2011 telenovela La Reina del Sur. Based on the best-selling book by Arturo Perez-Reverte, Queen Of The South centers on Teresa Mendoza (Alice Braga), who’s forced to go on the run when her drug-dealing boyfriend is unexpectedly murdered in Mexico. De Almeida — repped by APA, Lasher Group and attorney Frank Stewart — will play Don Epifanio Vargas, a handsome, privileged and successful Mexican politician who was a father figure to Teresa’s boyfriend, Guero, who welcomed her into his family like a daughter. But he also is very dangerous, with a cool demeanor that masks a volatile, violent man who cannot be trusted. De Almeida next will be seen opposite Sandra Bullock in the feature Our Brand Is Crisis. His TV credits include recurring roles on Missing and Parenthood and guest-starring roles on Revenge, Bones, The Glades and The Mentalist.
