ABC has given the green light to Flesh and Blood, a drama from Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal alumna Jenna Bans, Mandeville Prods. and ABC Studios. Written by Bans, the project follows the return of a politician’s young son who was presumed dead after disappearing over a decade earlier, sending shockwaves throughout their tight knit community. But as the mysterious young man is welcomed back into his community, the neighbor sitting in jail for his murder is released and the cop responsible is forced to reexamine what truly happened so many years ago.
Bans executive produces with Mandeville’s David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman and Laurie Zaks. This marks the second consecutive collaboration between bans and Mandeville to get to pilot, following last year’s ABC drama Sea of Fire. This is Mandeville’s second ABC pilot this season, joining “true-crime” procedural L.A. Crime, written by Steven Baigelman.
