Carnival Films, a division of NBCUniversal International Television Production, has named Alex Sapot as Development Producer. The former executive director of drama development for ABC in Los Angeles, Sapot is relocating to Carnival’s London office, and will report to Gareth Neame, Managing Director. She will work alongside Development Producers, Phil Temple and Tara Cook, on the origination, development, selling and producing of Carnival’s upcoming UK and international drama slates.

During her 5 years at ABC, Sapot developed several internationally recognized scripted dramas including How To Get Away With Murder, Resurrection, Scandal, Last Resort and GCB.

Prior to ABC, Sapot was Director of Development for Grand Productions. During her tenure there, she and Gary Randall sold The Glades to A&E. She also acted as an executive on TNT’s, Saving Grace. Previously, she held roles at Fox TV Studios and HBO.

“It is exciting to welcome Alex to our growing team,” said Neame. Alex brings a breadth of experience in the scripted field, most recently at ABC and will further bolster our talented creative team in London. We’re sure she’ll make full use of the umbrella we got her as a welcome gift.”

“As the television market becomes more and more global, moving to London and joining one of the top international drama companies was simply too exciting an opportunity to pass up,” added Sapot.
