Doctor Who finished the year with its highest-rated season ever on BBC America. Plus, the annual Doctor Who Christmas special clocked 2.31 million viewers and was the No. 1 nonsports telecast in all of cable in its time period among adults 25-54 in Live+3.
The Christmas special delivered 1.3 million adults 25-54 in Live+3 and totaled 2.62 million total viewers in Live+3 combining the 9 PM premiere with 11:45 PM and 2:30 AM replays. The 12th Doctor’s first Christmas special more than doubled the viewership of the 11th Doctor’s first Christmas special, A Christmas Carol, in 2010.
BBC America was the No. 1 network on Twitter and Tumblr and Doctor Who: Last Christmas was the No. 1 nonsports primetime show on both platforms in all of television on December 25. Doctor Who is pacing as one of Twitter’s 10 most-tweeted original dramas in all of cable for 2014.
