The dancer-choreographer will delay his return to ABC’s Dancing With The Stars until the fall. He’s been cast as the male lead opposite stage and TV’s Laura Benanti (Nashville) in a limited-run extravaganza that Harvey Weinstein is producing for Radio City Music Hall. The seven-week run of New York Spring Spectacular is slated to begin March 7.
Hough won a record five seasons on the show and a 2013 Emmy. The Radio City show is being staged by Warren Carlyle (The Mystery Of Edwin Drood) under the co-creative direction of Diane Paulus (Pippin) and husband Randy Weiner (Queen Of The Night). Hough will play a man promised an eternal reward if he’s able to help a New York City tour guide whose job is threatened when Benanti’s character reveals her plan to take the tour company virtual.
