Another night of soft pre-holiday ratings. In repeat, CBS’ The Big Bang Theory (2.3 in adults 18-49) still was the highest-rated program of the night. It is currently tied with sophomore comedy Mom, though CBS’ 8:30 -11 PM lineup may undergo downward adjustment in the finals because of a local NFL pre-emption that is likely inflating the fast nationals. Mom (2.3), which aired an episode tackling domestic violence, is currently running down -12% from last week when it had an original Big Bang lead-in and holding onto 100% of its Big Bang repeat lead-in. Two And A Half Men (1.9) is currently down -17% from last week, while The McCarthys (1.6) and Elementary (1.4) are even.
NBC launched a third new awards show this year with The People Magazine Awards. It fared the worst of the three with a 0.8 in 18-49, behind the revival of American Comedy Awards (1.0) and iHeart Radio Music Awards (1.7), both also airing on Thursday. Its lead-in, The Biggest Loser (0.9) shed -18% from last week to hit a new Live+same day series low.
On ABC, The Taste (0.8) was even with last week and tied for series low. On the CW, the iHeart Radio Jingle Ball special (0.6) was up a tenth (+20%) from last year’s telecast. The rest was repeats.
