OSCARS: 7 Films Advance In Makeup & Hairstyling

The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Foxcatcher and The Theory Of Everything are among the seven films that remain in competition in the Makeup and Hairstyling category for the 87th Oscars, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said today. The shortlisted movies are The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Foxcatcher, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Guardians of the Galaxy, Maleficent, Noah and The Theory of Everything

On January 10, all members of the Academy’s Makeup Artists and Hairstylists Branch will be invited to view 10-minute excerpts from each of the seven shortlisted films. Following the screenings, members will vote to nominate three films for final Oscar consideration.

The 87th Academy Awards nominations will be announced live at 5:30 a.m. PT on January 15 in the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater.

The Oscars will be held on Sunday, February 22, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland and will be televised live by ABC. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.
