Veteran reality producer Matt Kunitz, creator/executive producer of Wipeout and executive producer of Fear Factor, has signed an overall TV deal with Lionsgate TV. Under the multi-year pact, he will develop and produce unscripted programming through his Pulse Creative banner, working with Pulse development executive Rebecca Quinn.
Kunitz was most recently under an overall deal at FremantleMedia North America following lengthy stints at NBCUniversal and Endemol where he worked on Fear Factor and Wipeout, respectively. Wipeout recently wrapped its seventh season on ABC and has been produced in 38 countries. Kunitz was the driving force behind all seven seasons of Fear Factor, the first reality competition series to go into syndication, which has since been joined by Wipeout.

Kunitz, repped by Greg Lipstone at ICM Partners and attorney David Tenzer, first gained prominence as a producer on MTV’s groundbreaking docu reality series The Real World, where he rose to showrunner during his five-season tenure.
“Matt is a powerhouse producer who knows what it takes to create reality hits with worldwide appeal,” said Lionsgate Television Group chairman Kevin Beggs. “Building our brand in this arena continues to be a priority for Lionsgate and we’re delighted to be in business with him.”
Lionsgate has been expanding its unscripted TV portfolio through its partnerships with Roy Bank’s Banca Studio, Eli Frankel’s Rogue Atlas Productions and Dave Caplan’s Trooper Entertainment, which have yielded such series as Deal With It on TBS, Deion’s Family Playbook on OWN, Way Out West on TruTV, Flea Market Flip on GAC and the upcoming Christina Milian Turned Up on E!
