Huaso Film/TV Digital Production, Sony Pictures’ Chinese joint venture with CCTV6’s HuaCheng Pictures, has sealed a deal with Croton Media to co-produce a China version of 1990s NBC sitcom Mad china-and-hollywood__130605112955-150x150__130925193515__131105220131__131105231458About You. This is the first adaptation of series in Asia by SPT. The original Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning comedy ran for seven seasons and starred Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt. The story follows a city-dwelling newlywed couple looking to sustain marital bliss despite many hurdles including their careers, families and friends. Huaso and Croton have begun casting the two lead roles and supporting characters with production slated to start in early 2015.

Tom Hiddleston and Gillian Anderson were among winners at the 60th London Evening Standard Theatre Awards on Sunday night. Hiddleston won Best Actor for his title role in Coriolanus at the Donmar Warehouse, and Anderson was honored for her Best Actress performance as Blanche DuBois in the Young Vic’s A Streetcar Named Desire. The Trip castmates Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon hosted the event at the London Palladium. Best Play went to The James Plays, a co-production of the National Theatre of Scotland and Edinburgh International Festival. The special Lebedev Award went to veteran Tom Stoppard. Revival of the Year was Skylight starring Bill Nighy and Carey Mulligan, which also is  transferring to Broadway.
