Battle leaves “a fingerprint…on the soul,” says writer/director David Ayer, a military veteran from a family of military veterans, talking in this video above about what he was trying to capture in Fury, his movie about a Sherman tank crew marooned behind enemy lines during WWII.
Stars Logan Lerman and Jon Bernthal join Ayer in talking about making the film, including the boot-camp experience the actors were put through to prepare them for the kind of mindset needed to begin to portray real soldiers under stress. The film also stars Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf, among others. Producers were Ayer, Bill Block, John Lesher and Ethan Smith.
Fury has grossed $181.9 million worldwide since it was released in October. Have you seen the film? What did you think? Let us know.
