‘The Nightly Show’ Promo Touts Larry Wilmore’s Extra “Nightly-ness’ – Video

Days before Stephen Colbert wraps The Colbert Report, heading off to replace David Letterman on CBS’ The Late Show, Comedy Central unveiled its first promo video (watch above) for Colbert’s replacement. The promo debuted during Monday’s The Daily Show and The Colbert Report.  Larry Wilmore’s late-night successor – now called The Nightly Show – premieres at 11:30 PM, Jan 19. following Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show.

Last May, Comedy Central announced The Daily Show’s Senior Black Correspondent would take over Colbert’s time slot. The Nightly Show will be produced through Jon Stewart’s Busboy Prods., with Stewart and Wilmore serving as executive producers, as is showrunner Rory Albanese.
