YouTube stars the Fine Brothers are joining with Big Block Entertainment on an untitled teen comedy. Benny and Rafi Fine — who have built a big presence on YouTube and other social media — and will write, direct and produce the untitled feature-length project.
The film is billed as “an over-the-top look at the clique-filled world of high school” as outcasts turn the tables on their tormentors.
“We haven’t made a feature-length film since we were teenagers, and we’re excited to be making one now,” the brothers said in a release. “Consider this our spin on classics like Can’t Hardly Wait and Mean Girls, and we can’t wait to unleash this movie to our 10+-million subscribers and beyond.”
Big Block’s Tom Pellegrini (Jiro Dreams Of Sushi, Hesher) and Tony-nominated Broadway producer Scott Prisand (Rock Of Ages, Legally Blonde) will produce. Big Block founder and CEO Scott Benson (Ride, Heathers: The Musical) and Fine Brothers manager Max Benator are executive producers.
Benny and Rafi Fine and Big Block are represented by WME. The brothers’ main YouTube channel has more than 10 million subscribers who generate 140 million monthly views of their videos.
