BAFTA will pay tribute to Oscar-nominated sound and picture editor Terry Rawlings on December 7 in London. The British Academy produces a small number of tributes each year to recognize major figures in the film and TV industries who have made a significant contribution to the moving picture arts and demonstrated excellence in their field. Rawlings’ credits include GoldenEye, Women In Love, Bedazzled, The Duellists, The Great Gatsby, Watership Down, Alien, Chariots Of Fire, Yentl and Blade Runner. A five-time BAFTA nominee. Rawlings started his career as a dubbing assistant before working as a sound, dubbing and music editor during the 1960s and early 1970s on films directed by then-emerging new talents including Jack Clayton, Karel Reisz, Ken Russell and Michael Winner. In 1982, he was nominated for an editing Oscar for Chariots Of Fire.
