The first film in EuropaCorp’s planned trilogy rebooting the Transporter franchise has been reset for a summer release. The Transporter Legacy was set to open March 6 in North America but now will arrive June 19. The recently completed actioner starring Ed Skrein in the Frank Martin role originated by Jason Statham will launch against the Disney-Pixar toon Inside Out and Fox drama Paper Towns.
Meanwhile, Relativity said today that its awards hopeful Black Or White will get a one-week Oscar-qualifying run starting December 3 before its January 23 platform release and expansion a week later. Kevin Costner and Octavia Spencer topline the drama from writer-director Mike Binder about a man who’s suddenly left to care for his biracial granddaughter and ends up in a custody battle.
