20th Century Fox has closed a deal for Oscar Isaac to star as Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse. Isaac, stellar in Inside Llewyn Davis, will next be seen opposite Jessica Chastain in A Most Violent Year. In X-Men, he plays the most powerful mutant ever and the most menacing foe the X-Men have ever faced. Tracks back to ancient times. The main villain of the film. Considers himself a god. From the look of the comic character, Isaac’s going to have to do some benching.
Bryan Singer is back as director, helming a script by Simon Kinberg from a story written by Singer, Kinberg, Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris. Singer and Lauren Shuler Donner are producing with Kinberg and Hutch Parker. Emma Watts and Daria Cercek will oversee for the studio. Production begins early next year, for May 27, 2016 release. Isaac, who’s part of the gang relaunching Star Wars, is repped by UTA and Inspire Entertainment.
