New production shingle Remark Films has come aboard as co-financer on the Keanu Reeves thriller Daughter of God, which Fortitude Int’l, CAA and Cassian Elwes are selling at AFM. Remark is backed by Daniel Grodnik’s Mass Hysteria Entertainment Company, Inc. and Wall Streeters Seth and Curt Kramer, and is aiming to develop and co-finance two to five features per year at budgets up to $10 million. Daughter of God is written and directed by Gee Malik Linton and marks Remark’s first project. Reeves, currently in theaters in the hitman actioner John Wick, stars as a police detective who investigates the truth behind his partner’s death while a young Latina woman (Ana de Armas) experiences strange happenings. Reeves, Linton, and Robin Gurland are producing while Elwes, the Kramer brothers, and Grodnik are executive producers. Filming is underway in New York.

Ketchup Entertainment has pacted with Altitude Film Entertainment on a UK distro deal to release Ketchup titles across home entertainment, pay TV, and free TV channels in the UK. The partnership starts with David Hayter’s werewolf pic Wolves starring Lucas Till and comedy Superfast from spoofmeisters Aaron Seltzer and Jason Friedberg. Ketchup’s US distribution division has been active since May 2012 snapping up titles for domestic release including Pierce Brosnan starrer The Love Punch and Paul Walker’s Vehicle 19. Deal was negotiated by Ketchup’s Gareth West and Stephen Stanley with Will Clarke and Andy Mayson on behalf of Altitude Film Entertainment.
Double Dutch International is teaming with Trilight Entertainment Inc. to take worldwide sales rights to Archie: Robodog, The Adventure Club, and Derailed Dreams at AFM. Archie: Robodog is the follow-up to the Step Dogs/Vampire Dog films from director Geoff Anderson. As the Air Bud series attests, who doesn’t love a dog movie? (Fun fact: Anderson did effects on six of the talking pooch Buddies pics.) Pact also includes The Adventure Club from writer Fred Ewanuick and sports drama Derailed Dreams written and directed by Justin Donnelly. Trilight is producing and financing all three films.
Vinnie Jones (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, X-Men: The Last Stand) stars in actioner Decommissioned, which Cardinal X is selling to foreign buyers at AFM. Timothy Woodward, Jr. directs the tale of a retired FBI agent (Johnny Messner) whose life is turned upside down when he discovers he’s the patsy for an impending CIA-orchestrated presidential assassination. Jones plays the agent’s FBI handler in a cast that also includes James Remar, Estella Warren, and Michael Pare. And here’s the trailer!
