Midterm elections delivered Fox News Channel’s most watched week of 2014. FNC was the most watched cable network for total day, and No. 2 in primetime behind only ESPN. It’s the first time FNC has topped the weekly primetime cable total-day rankers in overall audience since the week of the Boston Marathon bombing in April 2013.
In primetime, FNC finished the week in second place among total viewers, behind ESPN. CNN and MSNBC ranked No. 25 and No. 24, respectively, in total day among cable networks, and No. 26 and No. 24, respectively, in primetime.
FNC averaged 2.511 million viewers in primetime; 1.432 million for total day. CNN logged 607,000 viewers in primetime, 378,000 in total day. MSNBC averaged 712,000 primetime viewers, 393,000 in total day.

In the news demo, 25-54, FNC ranked No. 10 in prime and No. 8 in total day; CNN ranked 26th in prime and 38th in total day; and MSNBC lined up in 31st place in prime and 39th in total day. ESPN was No. 1 in the age bracket, in both total day and prime.
