Nearly a year after it was ordered as a presentation for the network, VH1 has greenlit six episodes of docu-comedy series Barely Famous, starring sisters Erin and Sara Foster, for premiere in March 2015. In each half-hour episode, the pair will parody the most obvious and outlandish conventions of reality TV by centering around two sisters who say they would never do a reality show, but are being filmed by a camera crew.
The reality TV parody follows the siblings, daughters of David Foster, as they navigate the treacherous LA waters of career and dating, all while trying to maintain their picture perfect image. We follow the pair through their awkward celebrity encounters and efforts to book their next big gig and when things go horribly wrong, as they tend to do, prove that living the Hollywood lifestyle isn’t easy, even if you’re born into it.
Erin was a writer on NBC’s The New Normal. Her acting credits include roles on The O.C. and Reno 911! Currently, she is penning a feature for Universal. Sara, best known for a recurring role on 90210, also appeared on Entourage and features including D.E.B.S. and The Big Bounce.
Barely Famous is executive produced by Jason Carbone & Nick Lee for Good Clean Fun and Oly Obst, Josh Lieberman & Kimberly Carver for 3 Arts. Erin and Sara Foster also serve as executive producers. Executive producing for VH1 are Susan Levison, Jill Holmes, Kristen Kelly, Fernando Mills and Tricia Biggio.
