Dean Chekvala (True Blood) has been tapped to guest star on USA Network’s 10-episode event series Dig, an action adventure drama from Heroes creator Tim Kring and Homeland executive producer Gideon Raff. It centers on Peter (Jason Isaacs), an FBI agent stationed in Jerusalem who, while investigating a murder of a woman archaeologist, uncovers a conspiracy 2000 years in the making that threatens to change the course of history. Chekvala, repped by SDB Partners and Bruce Economou, will play Charlie, Debbie’s (Lauren Ambrose) ex-boyfriend. Though their breakup was bitter, his love for her is resolute and he becomes her reluctant ally when she needs him. In addition to his role as Roy on True Blood, Chekvala’s other TV credits include Legends, Masters Of Sex, Intelligence, and Longmire.
Michael Gross (Family Ties, Tremors) has landed a recurring role in Netflix‘s half-hour comedy Grace And Frankie, toplined by Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. The 13-episode series from Skydance, created by Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris, centers on longtime nemeses Grace (Fonda) and Frankie (Tomlin), who are facing the last chapter of their lives. When their husbands (Martin Sheen, Sam Waterston) announce they are in love with each other and plan to get married, the women find their lives both turned upside down and, to their dismay, permanently intertwined. Gross, repped by Stone Manners Salners and Kerner Management, will play Jeff, an enthusiastic gay caterer who is friends with Grace and Frankie’s former husbands. Gross’s recent credits include recurring roles on USA’s Suits and FX’s Anger Management.
