Fox is developing a multi-camera comedy from Will & Grace creators David Kohan and Max Mutchnick. It revolves around a single mother, her three kids and her ex-grifter father who move from their home in New Jersey to Los Angeles to start a new life — though she probably should have told the kids. Kohan and Mutchnick are writing and executive producing through their KoMut Entertainment. Warner Bros TV, where the duo has been based since the end of Will & Grace, is the studio.
Kohan and Mutchick previously worked with Fox on another family comedy, Strange Brew, which went to pilot starring Laurie Metcalf in 2010. The duo won best comedy series Emmy for Will & Grace in 2000. Their latest multi-camera comedy series, Buzzy’s, will debut on TBS next year. It marks their first foray into cable. Kohan is with Vision Art’s Scott Schwartz; Mutchnick is with WME.
