Evolution partners Amy Slomovits and Brady McKay are leaving the management/production company to join fellow management/production firm Haven Entertainment as partners. At Haven, the duo will launch a talent department, which they will oversee. Slomovits and McKay, who start today, join Haven founding partners Mauricio Betancur, Jesse Hara, Kevin Mann and Rachel Miller. They are bringing with them from Evolution manager Lindsay Whitaker. “We felt it was time to partner with a Lit and Production company that shared our vision of creating a powerful boutique where we can support our clients’ creativity from start to finish,” Slomovits and McKay said “We feel Haven are the perfect partners to develop artists and content that will make us proud.”
Slomovits and McKay bring with them a roster of comedic talent that includes Kaitlin Olson (It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia), Michaela Watkins (Trophy Wife, SNL), Mary Elizabeth Ellis (New Girl), Kyle Bornheimer (Bachelorette) and Fiona Gubelman (Wilfred). Also coming to Haven with them are Elizabeth Henstridge (Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D) and Kevin Rankin (Dallas Buyers Club) among others.
Slomovits and McKay’s talent roster includes a number of comedic writer performers. They executive produce Comedy Central’s upcoming 10-episode comedy series Idiotsitter, which their client Charlotte Newhouse co-created and stars in with Jillian Bell. The project originated as a Web series. They also represent Patrick Carlyle who sold comedy pitch Crescent Heights to Fox with his partner Allyn Rachel. In the social media/digital space, Slomovits and McKay rep Vine stars Marcus Johns (Expelled) and KC James who together have 9.6 million followers.
Haven Entertainment was founded in 2012 with initial focus on literary representation and plans to expand into talent later on. That expansion is now a reality with the arrival of Slomovits and McKay. “As Haven Entertainment continues to grow, we are thrilled to partner with Amy and Brady to expand our footprint representing distinct voices and creating content relevant to the ever changing entertainment landscape,” Hara said.
Haven produced Life Partners starring Leighton Mesiter, Gillian Jacobs & Adam Brody which was released by Magnolia Films on iTunes and VOD last week and will be in theaters on December 5. Their film Tell starring Milo Ventimiglia and Jason Lee will be released by MGM also on December 5. Additionally, Haven recently wrapped the Michael Showalter directed Hello, My Name Is Doris starring Sally Field and Max Greenfield and Charles Hood’s Night Owl starring Adam Pally, Rosa Salazar, Peter Krause, Tony Hale and Rob Huebel.
