The inaugural broadcast of the Hollywood Film Awards will be hosted by Queen Latifah. The Oscar-nominated actress, musician and talk show host will preside over the event, which will take place Nov. 14 at the Hollywood Palladium and air on CBS. “Queen Latifah is the real deal. She is a triple threat – she can act, she can sing, she can dance – she is beloved by audiences across multiple genres and she entertains millions of people every day,” said CBS EVP specials Jack Sussman, referring to Queen Latifah’s daily syndicated talkshow.
Founded by Carlos de Abreu 17 years ago, HFA kicks off the annual awards season. Last year, de Abreu partnered with dick clark prods. to bring HFA to television, leading to a deal with CBS. dick clark will produce the telecast, with de Abreu executive producing alongside Allen Shapiro, Mike Mahan, Mark Bracco and R. A. Clark.
