The Griswold family will be arriving in theaters slightly sooner than expected. Warner Bros. and New Line’s comedy reboot of 1983’s franchise-starter National Lampoon’s Vacation has been moved up in next fall’s release calendar from November 13, 2015 to October 9, 2015. The previously untitled project has also been officially named Vacation. It’s currently filming in Louisiana with writer-directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein at the helm.
Ed Helms stars as a now-grown Rusty Griswold, who takes his family on a trip similar to the one dad Clark Griswold planned in the original film. Leslie Mann is playing Rusty’s sister Audrey, while Christina Applegate, Chris Hemsworth, and Charlie Day round out the cast.
Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo are also expected to pop up in the comedy which will now open against Relativity’s Kidnap and Disney’s The Jungle Book.
