The Samuel Goldwyn Foundation has donated $6 million to the Motion Picture & Television Fund to establish a new behavioral health center for its entertainment industry members. The latest gift brings the family’s total contributions to the MPTF to more than $55 million, making it the single largest donor in the foundation’s 93-year history.

The gift will be used to establish the 12-bed Samuel Goldwyn Jr. Center for Behavioral Health on MPTF’s Woodland Hills campus, and to bolster the endowment fund at the Samuel Goldwyn Foundation Children’s Center in West LA.

The donation is part of the $350 million MPTF Campaign, which was launched in February 2012 to support the charity. It has raised $325 million to date. Here’s a video of the donation ceremony from last month:
