After a six-year stint at Sony Pictures TV, Kevin Falls is returning to his previous studio home, 20th Century Fox TV, with a two-year overall deal that has an option for a third. Under the pact, he already has sold a drama project, Castlebar, to Fox with penalty. At Sony TV, Falls co-created with Bill Chais and has been co-showrunning the TNT legal dramedy Franklin & Bash. Falls completed his duties on the show’s fourth season, which is currently airing. The network is yet to make a decision on the series’ future.
While at 20th TV, Falls worked on a number of series and created/executive produced the NBC drama Journeyman. “We’ve had a long history with Kevin and we couldn’t be happier to have him back in the studio fold,” said 20th TV president of creative affairs Jonnie Davis. “He’s a terrific guy, incredibly passionate and driven, and his scripts always feel so contemporary and real.”
Written and executive produced by Falls, Castlebar a high-stakes workplace drama about a thirtysomething wunderkind who returns to his alma mater and convinces the trustees to hire him as the university’s President. Falls, whose credits also include The West Wing, is with WME and attorney Stuart Rosenthal.
