NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution said today the talk-show franchises Maury, The Jerry Springer Show and The Steve Wilkos Show have been sold through September 2018. Station groups Tribune, Sinclair, Hearst, Weigel and Sunbeam are included in the deal, which extends the shows’ current deals for an additional two seasons and reps 65% of the U.S.. The pact will keep them in national syndication for at least four more seasons on top stations WPIX New York, KTLA Los Angeles, WGN Chicago and WCIU Chicago, WPHL Philadelphia, WLVI Boston, KDAF Dallas, WPGH Pittsburgh, WTTE Columbus and WKCF Orlando among others.
Maury is starting its 17th season and averaged 3 million daily viewers last season; Jerry Springer started in 1991 and drew 1.8 million viewers last season; and Wilkos just debuted Season 8 with 2.4 million viewers.
All three shows are produced by Stamford Media Center and Production and distributed in the U.S. by NBCU, and all are taped in front of live studio audiences at the Stamford Media Center in Stamford, CT.
