American Cinematheque continues to finalize plans for their 28th Annual Gala announcing today that his Interstellar  director, Christopher Nolan, will present this year’s honoree Matthew McConaughey with theAmerican-Cinematheque-003-copyInterstellar_cprestigious American Cinemetheque Award on Tuesday evening.   Additionally another co-star of the much-anticipated film, Anne Hathaway, has been added to the lineup along with McConaughey’s How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days and  Fool’s Gold  co-star Kate Hudson.  They join previously announced participants including Jennifer Garner, Cole Hauser, Reese Witherspoon, Lili Fini Zanuck  and yet another Interstellar co-star, Jessica Chastain. Jimmy Kimmel will host.

With screenings set to begin next week for various press and guilds, this American Cinematheque tribute is also perfectly timed to put a big spotlight not just on McConaughey, but also his new film which opens November 7th following two days of special IMAX and 70MM engagements. The reigning Best Actor Oscar winner could indeed be a contender again in the same category if advance buzz on the film is any indication and certainly having Nolan present the award, along with the presence of the film’s two major female co-stars, won’t do anything to dampen the growing hype being orchestrated for the launch of perhaps the Fall’s and Oscar season’s most anticipated, but yet unseen, film.

The gala takes place on Tuesday October 21st at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.
