Craig Zadan and Neil Meron’s Storyline Entertainment has brought in Tasha Brown as SVP Television Development and Production. Brown, who starts this week, has been hired under Storyline’s first-look series deal with Universal TV. She will report to Zadan and Meron. Brown succeeds Beatrice Springborn, who joined Hulu as head of originals in June.
Brown comes to Storyline from Chelsea Handler’s Borderline Amazing Prods, where she served as VP Development and Production for the past 2 1/2 years. There she helped develop and set up a number of projects, most recently Kerri Kenney and Jamie Denbo’s Rabbit Hole at IFC. She previously was VP Comedy Development at Chernin Entertainment, where she was involved in the company’s Fox comedy New Girl. Brown started her executive career at BBC Worldwide Prods in L.A. as a consultant and then as Director of Scripted Development.
Storyline’s Mark Nicholson, VP Development and Production, will continue to oversee the slate of TV movies/miniseries under the company’s Sony Pictures TV deal, as well as their feature film slate, which includes films at Universal, Fox 2000 and Sony. He also will work with Brown on development of series and will continue to report to Zadan and Meron. Zadan and Meron are prepping Peter Pan Live! for NBC, which airs December 4, and the Oscars, which ABC will broadcast February 22
